We carry out our service in rural and health pastoral, direct evangelization, care for children in the nursery.
TOYOS: Village of the Municipality of El Negrito in the Department of Yoro, located in northern Honduras. Area with a very young and poor population, with a high percentage of unschooling.
Through the Delegation of Missions of Oviedo, the Lord’s providence was present to expand the field of the Missionary Sisters of Mary Mediatrix in the world.
Father Faustino Camblor, SJ Asturian, who has been working in Honduras for more than thirty years, went to the Delegation of Missions to inquire about the religious who were there; he expressed the need in his parish for religious for various fields such as: a small hospital that he wanted to expand and organize, parish ministry as support and help in the thirty-five villages of his parish and the need felt in the environment to start a day care center for children.
We accepted the challenge, we were encouraged by the support of Medicus Mundi (Asturias) and we formed the community with sisters from Spain, India and Colombia. They arrived at the site on March 8, 2002.
They began their work at the “Asturias” Hospital, organizing and collaborating in the management and administration of the Hospital.
The “Santa Clara” day care center was founded, which is attended by a considerable number of children, most of them malnourished and weak, with the attention of the sisters and employees, the children improve their malnutrition, thus guaranteeing their learning.
The parish pastoral in the villages of Honduras is moved by the Delegates of the Word or Catechists who are the right hand of the Priest, without whom Evangelization is not conceivable; the sisters collaborate in their formation and in all the Pastoral activities of the Parish.
