Each year on 8th May the Missionaries of Mary Mediatrix honour the Mother of Jesus under the title of Mediatrix, to whom they entrust themselves in remembrance of her intercession at the Wedding at Cana, when she pleaded with her Son on behalf of the bride and groom who had run out of wine.

In the letter that Sr. Mercedes Arbesú, Superior General, wrote on the occasion of this feast, she recalled the figure of Mary and the importance of her protection and help at all times: “with her, we reflect on our personal and community reality, and we ask her to come to our aid when we feel tired, confused, or ill: she will bring us comfort. Into your hands, Mary, we entrust the reality of our Congregation, of our communities, and each one of us, because we know that you will care them with maternal love”.

Together with the laypeople, friends, and family members, this day was celebrated following the special liturgy approved by the Congregation for Divine Worship on July 29, 1985.
