Most. Rev. Andrew R. Marak, Bishop of the diocese of Tura, has invited the Missionaries of Mary Mediatrix to start a new community in Rengmagre, Meghalaya state, where they are already present in the villages of Munai and Thakkimagre. The blessing of the house took place on 10th July in the presence of the bishop, priests, sisters of the Congregation and many friends.
For some time now, the Sisters have been moving from the community of Thakkimagre, 14 kilometres from Rengmagre, to help in the school and in the pastoral work of the area. From now on, with the opening of this new community, the Sisters will be able to carry out their mission from the same place.
The Missionaries of Mary Mediatrix have been present in the state of Meghalaya since 2022 with the opening of the community of Munai. A year later, in 2023, the community of Thakkimagre was opened. The Sisters carry out their apostolate in schools and collaborate in parish ministry.
