Francisco Javier Valiente, Salesian and journalist, approached us to the challenge that digital media pose for consecrated life today. We live in a digitalised world in which, as religious and missionaries, we have much to contribute, where we also assume risks.
From technical aspects of digital information to the implications of the media in our lives, Javier Valiente helped us to understand the need we have to communicate, and he encouraged us to use them with prudence and control because with them we can evangelise and be evangelised.
He also warned of the risk of abusive use leading to isolation and addiction.
In the afternoon, Sr. Valsamma Lukose helped us to situate the vows and the way of living them in a society where we need witnesses of chastity, poverty and obedience.
